Your Adventure Awaits…
Los Cabos certainly has no shortage of amazing experiences, and you’ll soon realize that it would take several trips to squeeze it all in!
San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas both have very different personalities. Cabo San Lucas is a resort town known for its big resorts, nightlife, and party atmosphere. On the other hand, San José del Cabo offers a more authentic Mexican experience known for its colonial buildings, historic district, and many art galleries featuring local artisans.
The amazing Sea of Cortez, named by Jacques Cousteau as the “Aquarium of the World,” provides many adventures such as a boat trip to the legendary “El Arco” pictured above. You can also go deep-sea fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, surfing, and whale watching (December - March). If you’re more of a land lover, you can go horseback riding on the beach, hiking, golfing, shopping, and dining in many wonderful spots. We love all the walking options our area has to offer.
Our Facebook and Instagram pages also feature some of our absolute favorite activities, restaurants, and local attractions so be sure to check them out.
You can also view and/or download our convenient guide of favorite restaurants and activities.
Golf at the Villa and other popular Cabo Golf Courses
Residents or guests at the villa can play on the Vidante Golf Course (formally the Grand Mayan), which the villa overlooks for approximately $75 per round. Five other golf courses are within a 15-minute radius. Three courses were designed by Jack Nicklaus and one by Robert Trent Jones. These other courses feature spectacular ocean and mountain holes.
You can learn more about all the various golf courses here.
‘The Office’ & Boat Tour
ENJOY A BOAT RIDE WITH ROGER AROUND LOVERS BEACH AND LANDS END AND THEN GO TO A SUNSET DINNER AT THE WORLD FAMOUS “OFFICE ON THE BEACH”
Going to The Office is like a “right of passage” and all the food is great (beware mixed drinks are strong). You sit with your feet in the sand with a great view of Lands End. To make this experience even better, we recommend making a reservation about 90 minutes prior to your Office sunset reservation with Roger and his boat “SeaBreeze”.
We highly recommend Roger “Rohelio” and have had many great tours with him. The website is http://seabreezeboat.com. His Mexican cell number is +52 624-157-8273, which you can call from the Mexican line at the house. Roger will pick you up right on the beach in front of The Office (let him know what you are wearing so he can signal you from the boat). We recommend he takes you over to “Lovers Beach” and he gives you a personal tour of Lands End taking you around to the Pacific side. The tour usually lasts about an hour or two. He needs to return you to the marina and you can do a short walk back to the Office. Make sure you tell him the number of people in your party and ask for the “Kent Smith Special” rate. He also has beverages onboard. Don’t accept any substitute. You will thoroughly enjoy it and he speaks great English.
Flora Farms Restaurant, Spa & More!
ENJOY FARM TO TABLE DINING LIKE NO OTHER!
Flora Farms is truly an experience with fabulous organic food with much of it grown in their very own fields. Floral Farms offers so much more than just fabulous dining too. From cooking, painting and yoga classes to spa treatments and live music, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
We do recommend making a reservation for lunch as it is much better to go during daylight than at night. Reservations book quickly so make them well before your tip. It's a little oasis in the desert well worth the trip!
Art Walk and Tacos in San Jose del Cabo
EVENING ART WALK AND DINNER AT LA LUPITA
Beginning in November on every Thursday night in San Jose town there is an Art Walk where you can walk through local galleries. One of our favorite galleries is Ivan Guaderrama’s Gallery just across from Mi Casa. We recommend going around 6pm. There are also many other local shops around the town square and down the street. La Lupita is one of our all time favorite local gourmet taco places. We highly recommend that you request a seat in the back patio area by bar as they usually have a great band on Thursdays starting around 7pm. Please note that the Art Walk is only held on Thursdays.
Enjoy the Game in Style at The District Sports Bar
If you’re a sports fan and don’t want to miss your favorite sports game then The District is the best place to go. They have 10 large screens around the bar and the food is good. They can put on just about any game you want. The District is very close to the house, it’s about ¼ mile west on the main road toward Cabo San Lucas on the right side of the road.
